Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige Headline Chicago's United Center for the Heart of the City Tour

Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige headlined Chicago on April 26, 2008 at the United Center. The pair are currently on The Heart of the City tour. It has been named by both as dream tour reminiscent of the old days of Hip Hop when you would see many old school artists on tour together. The pair headed off the show with "Can't Knock the Hustle" a collaboration dating back to Jay-Z's first album Reasonable Doubt. Both are considered Hip Hops biggest stars, with Jay-Z appealing to the male audience and Mary J. Blige to a female audience.

Cal Ripken, Jr. Signs "Get in the Game" at Borders Books on State Chicago

Cal Ripken, Jr. Signs copies of his book "Get in the Game" at Borders Books on State Chicago on April 23, 2008.

Born on August 24, 1960 as Calvin Edwin Ripken, Jr. in Maryland, Cal Ripikn, Jr. was a 19 time Major League Baseball All-Star player. Throughout his career from 1981 through 2001 he played short stop and third baseman for the Baltimore Orioles. Many know him as the "Iron Man," because he would always make the line up, playing in 2,632 straight games, even with minor injuries. Cal Ripken, Jr. was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in January 9, 2007.

Cal Ripken, Jr. is very active today, currently on a promotional campaign signing copies of his book, "Get in the Game." He also heads up fundraisers for the support of children with the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation and the Lou Gehrig's disease. He tours throughout the country as a speaker about his career and lessons learned in baseball. With several other profound athletes, Cal Ripken, Jr. founded the Athletes for Hope, a charitable organization helping professional athletes get involved in charitable causes. In January of 2007, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice announced that Cal Ripken, Jr. has been named Sports Envoy for the U.S. State Department to bridge cultures through sports. Most recently, on February 28, 2008, Cal Ripken, Jr. released his involvement with online sports called, "Cal Ripken's Real Baseball" which can be found at http://www.playrealbaseball.com.

Billy Leo Williams, also known as Sweet Swingin’ Billy from Whistler was born on June 15, 1938 in Whistler, Alabama. He debut with the Chicago Cubs in 1959. In 1961 Williams was selected as Rookie of the Year. He continued his career as a professional major league baseball player through 1976.
