Barbara Walters is an American Journalist who has entertained us for nearly 50 years. During her recent celebrity status, she has been co-hosting the popular day time show called The View. In 2008, Barbara Walters published her memoirs titled "Audition: A Memoir."

WGCI Chicago Presents Jaslene Gonzalez Birthday Celebration

Jaslene Gonzalez was the guest of honor at a party thrown by WGCI Radio Chicago for her 22nd birthday at Vision Night Club in Chicago on May 23, 2008. Gonzalez was born on May 28, 1986 and is the winner of Cycle 8 of America’s Next Top Model which aired from February 28, 2007 to May 16, 2007. Originally born in Puerto Rico but came with her family to Chicago. Upon winning the show, Jaslene Gonzalez won representation by Elite Model Management and $100,000. Since then she has been a celebrity making appearances from New York to Los Angeles.

In addition to herself, the party was showcased with verse from Ray J (William Ray Norwood, Jr.) and Yung Berg (Christian Ward). Both put on a show for the fans, friend and family of Jaslene. But the official party started by Estelle (Estelle Swaray) singing happy birthday to Jaslene. Those were the official guest of the party, but if you waited to 1:30 am, you could have caught Chris Brown and Rihanna as they stopped by to show Jaslene some birthday wishes.

SuidAkrA Perform at Chicago Power Fest 2008 at the Pearl Room

SuidAkra performed at Chicago Power Fest 2008 at the Pearl Room, in Mokena, IL on May 3, 2008. SuidAkrA roots are from Germany and their choice of metal is Death Metal. Originally formed in 1994 by Arkadius Antonik (guitar,vocals). If you read the band name backwards it spells Arkadius. Through the course of the 1990s SuidAkra developed their melodic death metal sound. The band went through several band member changes as well as labels. Matt White Performance and Signing of Best Days at Border Books in Chicago

Singer/Songwriter Matt White performed and signed copies of his latest release titled "Best Days" at Border Books on State Street in Chicago on February 12, 2008. Matt White, a very recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin, born on September 23, 1980 in Englewood, New Jersey. After college he moved back to the east to New York City where he started his music career at about 2006. Under the Geffen Record Label, White released his debut album reaching the Billboard charts. Matt White's music has been used in various TV shows and popularized to a mass audience in the movie Shrek the Third.

Barenaked Ladies Signing and Performance at Borders Books in Oak Brook

The Canadian pop group Barenaked Ladies held a performance and signing for their latest children's book title "Snack Time." The book is only available online at their web site, http://www.bnlmusic.com. Fans of all ages packed the Borders Books in Oak Brook, IL on May 10, 2008. When you looked out to the audiences you saw children and parents sitting enjoying the Barenaked Ladies do some of their hits and songs from the book. Steven Page (vocals,guitar) before the starting the performance asked all the children to stand up, they all jumped with glee, when asked if for the parent to do the same, stand and stretch... he just noted, "you need your rest."

President Jimmy Carter on a book signing tour for "A Remarkable Mother" at Borders Books Chicago

Jimmy Carter, 39th President of the United States of America (1977-1981), stopped by Chicago on April 30, 2008 at Borders Books on Michigan Avenue. People waited for hours to have the former President Carter sign a copy of the book dedicated to his mother Bessie Lillian Gordy Carter (August 15, 1898 – October 30, 1983). After signing several copies, President Carter stepped over to meet with some of the media. One of the questions which was asked of President Carter, if decided to back Senator Hilary Clinton or Senator Barack Obama, President Carter noted that we'll just have to wait to see.
